The Bridle Track at Monaghans Bluff is closed indefinately due to a rock fall and extensive damage to the road - as seen in this photo.

Preferred routes from Bathurst to Hill End are either via the historic village of Sofala, 86km with approximately 12km of unsealed road, or 77km via Turondale which is all sealed.

The historic Bridle Track along the Macquarie and Turon River, unsuitable for caravan and trailers, is no longer a through road.
